Seminar “Evolution of money in 4.0 era”
On October 19, the webinar titled “Evolution of money in 4.0 era” was held by F-Group Vietnam in collaboration with the Reform and Development organization, MASSEI and the Faculty of Economics of National Economics University. The workshop was lectured by Dr. Steven Horwitz and economic expert Dinh Tuan Minh. Dr. Horwitz is a world-class scholar for his contributions to the study of the evolution of spontaneous orders such as currency, family, culture and other methodological contributions to Austrian school of economics and dynamic equilibrium analysis.
The seminars are divided into two sections. In the first section for the main talk titled “Do we really need the central bank?”, Dr. Horwitz went through the history and criticism of the FED and the central bank model in general. The talk ended with theoretical foundations and historical evidence of the free banking system where private banks compete in the issuance of money. In the second section, Mr. Dinh Tuan Minh expounded the roles of technology in creating a free banking system, including the theory of monetary evolution, the role of technology in creating positive externalities and incremental benefits for users, which goes beyond national boundaries and out of state or private companies’ control.
The seminar was a successful event with the enthusiastic participation and discussion of over 50 students, lecturers, employees of private companies and researchers in Hanoi.
